Importance of Voting

It is important to recognize that, although we may not share the same views or beliefs, we should make an effort to understand what others believe and how they have arrived at their conclusions. This poll and the accompanying comments are not intended to change your mind or convince you to abandon your beliefs. Rather, the goal is to foster respectful dialogue about the issues that divide us as a nation while providing you with the opportunity to express your own perspectives.

While we may not agree with others’ beliefs and may even find them fundamentally or theologically incorrect, we can still gain insight into why they hold those beliefs. Consider this: Is Jesus more concerned with your political beliefs or your faith in Him? Do you spend more time focused on politics and man-made issues, or reaching out to people for Christ? Did Jesus engage in discussions with those who did not share His views, and how did He approach them?

If we are unwilling to learn what the other side believes, we risk alienating half of the population. However, it’s important to remember that understanding different perspectives doesn’t mean you are adopting them as your own. In today’s America, through social media and peer groups, we’ve become accustomed to engaging only in discussions that reinforce our own views. We’ve stopped having meaningful conversations where we truly listen to others without the sole intent of proving them wrong. Often, we don’t even know why they hold their beliefs—just that they differ from ours.
This book was written as a novel that explores both sides of prominent political ideologies, along with today’s major social issues. Ultimately, it aims to answer the question: Who would Jesus vote for—Democrat or Republican—and why? The answer, however, may surprise you.
